In order to harness the growing momentum of individual giving, Forefront began to leverage the national Giving Tuesday campaign by creating #ILGive (pronounced “I’ll Give”), Illinois' official Giving Tuesday campaign. Taking place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, #ILGive for Giving Tuesday uses the power of social media to create a statewide movement around the holidays.
Ads were created to raise awareness and get Illinois residents to participate in this day of giving. A wish list was created for the key visual since for many people this time of year, wish lists are about survival and not splurging. This campaign ran in over 40 locations in downtown Chicago, including Michigan Avenue and Ogilvy Transportation Center. A print ad was also featured in the Chicago Sun Times. The ad campaign was a success and raised over $2 million dollars in 24 hours.
